You have to fight for what's in your heart.

Welcome, stranger, to Unsung, a fanlisting for the character Dorian Pavus from the video game Dragon Age: Inquisition. This fanlisting is listed at TheFanlistings.org under the category Games (Characters). While this site only hosts a fanlisting at the moment, I do hope to someday expand it into something more—perhaps when the layout is not so atrocious.

A mage hailing from the Tevinter Imperium, Dorian Pavus is one of the many companions that can be recruited in the game and is a possible romance option for a male Inquisitor. As Dragon Age: Inquisition was my first experience with the Dragon Age series, Dorian was the first character of the franchise I ever romanced. Charming and witty, he drew me in immediately with his snarky comments and banter. Aside from that, however, I love how unapologetically passionate he is about his homeland, and how sensitive and withdrawn he can be at times.

Given the, er, dark history of the Tevinter Imperium and its people, Dorian is aware that he is probably not the most liked person at any given place or time. To be fair, relations between Tevinter and Thedas are not exactly the greatest at the moment. In any case, Dorian is unaffected by how others may view him. Regardless of what reception awaits him, he chooses to join the Inquisition of his own volition, recognizing that Corypheus poses a threat not to one realm or people but to all.

It was this aspect of his personality I kept returning to when thinking of a title for the site. Although it's honestly still up in the air, at the moment, I've decided to go with unsung–for the man who, for all his posture and confidence, secretes himself in the shadowed hallways of the library—for the companion who, well-acquainted with the prejudice and distrust others hold towards him, chooses to fight not for thanks or for glory, but for what is right.

Not to mention I've been waiting YEARS for someone to make a fanlisting for this exceptional man. The game was released in 2014! THAT'S MORE THAN TWO YEARS?! WHY?!

Of course, I also adore the natural development of his and the Inquisitor's relationship... because... you know... Boyfriends.
